Link File
This is the help file for the Link File under Insert menu.
A Link File is a simple text file used to replace text before the pipe character (|) with the text after it.
It functions like a small header file that stores reusable parameters, settings, and replacement rules.
Link Files allow you to keep long or repetitive parameters out of the main document, making the main text cleaner and easier to read.
Link Files are commonly used at the beginning of a document, but they can also be applied to specific sections or paragraphs.
A document may include multiple Link Files if needed.
One of the most common uses is to automatically attach pitch, speed, or pronunciation settings to a person’s name or other repeated words during tokenizing, reading aloud, or exporting to WAV files.
How to Access
- From the main document or the Multimedia tab, choose Insert → Link File; or
- From any document containing a line such as
<Link:LinkFile\YourLinkFile.link>, double-click that line.
Each action performed in this window affects the document in the main document or the focus document.
In case inserting unintensionally to the main document and needed to undo changes, use the Undo option under the Edit menu.
