Shortcut Keys

Shortcut Key Definition

A special key combination that causes a specific command to be executed. Typically, shortcut keys combine the Ctrl or Alt keys with other keys.

If a menu or a button has a shortcut key, its label should have an underline letter.
To use a shortcut key when visible, hold the Alt key and type its letter.

Notes:
  1. There are duplicated shortcut keys on main menus and on submenus because they are active on that page or menu only.
  2. For some single letter shortcut keys, user can just click the button or the menu to perform a task or to access its menu.
